Jonathan S. Frizzell
Jon is a trial lawyer dedicated to finding simple solutions to complex problems. Although he likes using new technology, Jon likes
helping everyday people through the process of litigation even more. "My legal practice involves people, emotions, cold-hard facts, and
judgments," Jon says. "When you strip everything down to its core, litigation is about trials, and trials are about judging and
evaluating everyday people." Jon likes challenges, and has often faced large opponents on behalf of much smaller clients.
"I like to help the deserving underdog to win."
Injury cases:
Jon’s legal practice focuses primarily on personal injury cases, including car crashes, tractor-trailer wrecks, wrongful death,
product liability, and premises liability claims. Jon also regularly takes on disputes with insurance companies, and significant worker’s
compensation claims. "Injured clients and their families face many issues all at the same time. I prepare for jury trials on a daily basis,
but also fight for my clients on all the other issues that go along with their claims, such as med-pay, subrogation, property damage,
disability insurance, collection notices, and worker’s comp issues. I dwell on the details, so my clients don’t have to."
Business and municipal clients:
Besides helping injury victims and their families, Jon has many long-term business and municipal clients that he helps with day-to-day issues.
"But I still fight for the underdog. The neighborhood bank has to compete with national lenders. The small business owner
fights the big conglomerates. The small town has to deal with the state and federal governments, and big corporations." Jon’s
business practice includes zoning and planning board controversies; property tax disputes; forming corporations and limited liability
companies; and representing creditors in the Federal Bankruptcy Court.
Jon’s business practice helps his injury clients, and vice-versa. "My business law experience helps injured people, and my injury law
experience helps my long-term business clients."
Public service:
Jon served on the Colebrook School Board for six (6) years, including four years as Vice-Chairman. Jon is also a founding
member and director of the Colebrook Academy Foundation. He also serves as the Town Moderator for the Town of Colebrook,
holding that position since March of 2001. Jon also frequently serves as an assistant coach within many youth sports programs in Colebrook.
Jon’s public service earned him the distinction of being recognized at age of 33 as one of New Hampshire’s "Forty under 40" by the
Union Leader, on January 27, 2003. According to the news article, those selected were "young leaders making New Hampshire better".
Education, bar admissions and professional associations:
Jon received his J.D. from Franklin Pierce Law Center in 1996, and his A.B. from Dartmouth College in 1991. He was admitted to
practice in New Hampshire’s state and federal courts in 1996. Jon is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association; New Hampshire
Trial Lawyers Association; American Bar Association; and American Trial Lawyers Association.
